Fire surrounds are an important architectural detail and in most cases, are a main feature of a room.
To accommodate the demands of space, we offer an extensive service of designing bespoke fireplaces. Frequently, clients request something entirely unique or often have a photo of a wonderful fire surround taken from a magazine, hotel or strategy home.
Our craftsmen are able to build your exact fire surround. Although our favourite wood for carving is oak, due to it being such a hardwood, it carves so crisply and fine. Rare woods are often a request including American Black Walnut.
We hold an extensive stock of exotic woods for “Custom Built” fire surrounds.
All deliveries are with our own vehicles and staff. Packing and shipping worldwide is all done on site. Due to the increase business over the past years, we now have our own distribution warehouse in Savannah, Georgia, USA. We offer a full delivery service throughout the USA.
We are able to give you door-to-door quotation from our workshop to any U.S.A destination simply by obtaining your zip code.
You are invited to visit our workshops where you can witness the many stages involved in producing a beautiful fire surround.
Because our mantels are made in quality oak, the majority of clients require them stained to their exact colour, and then polished to their requirements.
Matt, semi-matt through to medium or high gloss, the choice is yours!
Painting and marbling is an option as well as “Gold leaf” and “Dutch metal” by our experienced gilders.
Making a wonderful fire surround in quality oak is only half the work.
The importance of getting the colour correct and polished professionally is everything.
Quite often clients request something entirely different and unusual. Due to the craftsmanship of our carpenters, gilders, carvers and polishers we usually find we can meet their challenges.
All bespoke work, whatever the task, is undertaken with genuine care and precision by highly skilled and knowledgeable craftsmen with extreme emphasis on quality here at our workshop in the U.K, (30 minutes from London.)
